Accreditation and State Recognition
The University of Sustainability – Charlotte Fresenius Private University is a new academic institution based in Vienna. It is accredited by the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria) and officially recognized by the Austrian Federal Ministry.
Our degree programs are likewise accredited. The following programs and start dates are confirmed or currently in the process of accreditation:
Since August 2024: Psychology (B.Sc.) and Sustainable Real Estate Management (B.Sc.)
From April 2023: Business Administration (B.A.) and Business Psychology (B.Sc.)
From October 2023: Management (M.Sc.)
Certifications
As a sustainability-focused private university, we integrate sustainability as a core principle throughout all aspects of our curriculum. Equally, we place strong emphasis on a sustainability-oriented organizational culture grounded in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
To underline this commitment and ensure transparency in our actions, we are actively pursuing sustainability certifications.
The following memberships have been applied for:
EMAS
The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is the EU’s voluntary environmental management system for organizations and institutions.
Participation requires the preparation of an environmental statement validated by an accredited auditor. We will prepare and submit our environmental statement once the establishment phase of the university is completed.
PRME
PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) is an initiative of the UN Global Compact.
Participating educational institutions commit to equipping students with the skills and values needed to align business objectives with sustainable development. PRME also promotes awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Quality Management
The University of Sustainability – Charlotte Fresenius Private University is part of the Carl Remigius Fresenius Education Group, which also includes Hochschule Fresenius and Charlotte Fresenius Hochschule in Germany.
We therefore draw on the Group’s established quality management system, certified according to DIN ISO 9001, ensuring that our programs and processes are continuously monitored and optimized.
The quality management system of the University of Sustainability – Charlotte Fresenius Private University is also certified by TÜV Austria in accordance with DIN ISO 9001.
