    Univ.-Prof. Dr. Fabian Christandl

    Vice-Rector for Research, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology

    Prof. Dr. Fabian Christandl is Professor of Economic Psychology and Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Sustainability.
    Previously, he taught at Hochschule Fresenius and earned his doctorate and habilitation at the University of Cologne.
    His research focuses on lay beliefs and their influence on economic and sustainable transformation processes. His work is regularly published in leading international journals.

    Univ.-Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Friedrich-Higgs

    Chair of General Psychology and Neuropsychology

    Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Friedrich-Higgs is Professor of General Psychology and Neuropsychology and Head of the Scientific Senate at the University of Sustainability.
    Her research examines how brain networks interact to enable effective social cognition and how predictive mechanisms influence perception in social contexts.

    Univ.-Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dominik E. Froehlich,PhD

    Chair of Methodology in Economic Psychology

    Prof. Dr. Dominik E. Froehlich teaches methodology in economic psychology at the University of Sustainability.
    He previously served as Professor of Management at the New Design University.
    With an interdisciplinary background (habilitation in educational sciences, University of Vienna; PhD in business psychology, Maastricht University), his research focuses on mixed methods, network analysis, and career development.
    He has also founded several companies dedicated to applied research and methodological innovation.

    Univ.-Prof. Dr. Kristin Härtl

    Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy

    Prof. Dr. Kristin Härtl teaches Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and is a Private Lecturer at the University of Bamberg.
    Previously, she was Research Coordinator at Hochschule Fresenius Munich and Head of Psychosomatics & Psycho-Oncology at LMU Munich.
    A licensed behavioral therapist, she co-edits the journal Verhaltenstherapie & Verhaltensmedizin and serves on the committee for the German S3-Guideline in Psychosocial Oncology.

    Univ.-Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Stöttinger

    Chair of General Psychology

    Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Stöttinger teaches General Psychology at the University of Sustainability.
    She previously conducted research and taught at the University of Salzburg, University of Waterloo (Canada), and Hochschule Fresenius Cologne.
    Her research explores how people form and adapt assumptions about their environment when expectations and reality diverge, using diverse methods and population groups.

    Tomislav Katić, M.Sc.

    Research Associate

    Tomislav Katić teaches courses in personnel psychology and academic research methods.
    His research focuses on tax psychology and consumer behavior.

    Ece Kurnaz, M.Sc.

    Research Associate

    Ece Kurnaz contributes to EEG-based research in social cognition and predictive coding at the University of Sustainability in Vienna.
    Her research interests include the neural mechanisms of social cognition, sensory processing, and individual differences in the perception of emotional faces.

      Research Publications

      Members of the Faculty of Psychology have published in leading international journals, including:
