Elisabeth Stöttinger is a Professor of General Psychology at the University of Sustainability. Previously, she held positions at the University of Salzburg, the University of Waterloo in Canada, and Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne.

In her research, she investigates how people form assumptions and models about their environment and how they revise them when reality no longer aligns with their expectations.

She analyzes these processes using a range of methods (behavioral studies, fMRI, lesion overlay analysis, eye tracking, electrodermal activity) and studies diverse participant groups, including stroke patients, children, individuals with autism spectrum disorder, and healthy young and older adults.
